Removal of cover of head of the cylinder block of Mercedes-Benz W124 is carried out for the layer pad control, others spare parts and resettings of valves.
PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove wire of weight from the accumulator.
2. Open a cowl and establish it in vertical position.
3. On engines with turbocharger remove an air vent connecting turbocharger with an intake manifold.

6 - oil catch caps;
7 - saddles of valves;
8 - cover of head of the cylinder block;
9 - cover gasket of a head of the cylinder block
4. Slacken loose strap also remove hose of ventilation of crankcase from a cover of head of the cylinder block.
5. Unscrew bolts and remove cover of head of the cylinder block. Remove layer pad.
6. Inspect parts and prepare new spare parts for replacement.
Installation
PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Installation of all spare parts is made in sequence, return to removal. If necessary replace a cover gasket of a head of the cylinder block.
